Whitney Carter

We are very pleased to welcome Whitney Carter to the David B. Smith Gallery as our new director. Whitney brings an extensive knowledge of contemporary art and a decade of experience in the gallery business.

After receiving her MA in Art History from San Francisco State University, Whitney worked at several galleries in Los Angeles, including ACE Gallery, and was the director for four years at Kinkead Contemporary. She then founded Carter & Citizen, a contemporary art gallery in Culver City, and developed the gallery over three years into a well-respected contemporary art venue.

After nearly 10 years in Los Angeles, Whitney recently relocated to Denver to be closer to family. The David B. Smith Gallery is very pleased to welcome Whitney to our Gallery. Please stop by and say hello!

David B. Smith Gallery was thrilled to participate in the inaugural PULSE Los Angeles Contemporary Art Fair this past week.  We featured new works by Gregory Euclide, Paul Jacobsen, and Kris Lewis.  A few works are still available and can be viewed on our PULSE Los Angeles exhibition page.  Please do not hesitate to contact the gallery to inquire about availability.

We were also thrilled to have received numerous blog mentions covering the fair, in addition to being recognized on Daily Serving’s “Best of PULSE LA.”  Their coverage can be read by visiting dailyserving.com.
