"In collaboration with the Denver-based David B. Smith Gallery, Gatherwild Ranch will mount a pop-up exhibition of Brooklyn- and Hudson Valley-based artists whose works emerge from close observation of the natural world. These range from Darina Karpov’s richly detailed graphite drawing, A Thicket of Murmurs, in which a small spire of organic matter is imbued with twinkles of mystical energy, to Ashley Garrett’s abstract paintings, which roil like a great inferno of varicolored brushstrokes. There’s sculpture, too, such as Gustav Hamilton’s ceramic wall piece glazed with a layered image: against a tile background, a bird contained in the silhouette of a ripe sunset."
